Driftwood Speakeasy,
Texas

Client: Private
Designer: MBDS

A secret world inside a private home in rural Texas.
The interior design unfolds as a celestial journey, where every element is meticulously crafted to evoke the cosmos.
Walls adorned with cowhide are subtly illuminated that enhances their natural texture.
Above, a hand-stitched ceiling masterpiece depicts the vastness of the universe, complemented by a fibre optic installation that simulates a starry sky, creating an immersive atmosphere. The interiors are lush, featuring antique chandeliers that exude timeless elegance and a bespoke staircase stands as a sculptural focal point, with lighting that accentuates its intricate patterns. At night, the speakeasy transforms, embracing an array of dynamic lighting colors that infuse the space with an electrifying party atmosphere.

18FIFTY worked closely with client, MBDS and Brown & Carroll to create a truly dazzling aesthetic. Originally built in London for the design team to review and sign off the mock-ups, speakeasy was dismantled, shipped and re-assembled in Austin, Texas.
